SweDev and EADI signs new partnership

Cooperation

EADI is now a proud partner to SweDev since February 2022

SweDev and a leading European network with members in over 25 countries, has signed a new partnership agreement. The purpose of the agreement is to foster collaboration on development research, supported by the network, communication and convening capacities of SweDev and EADI.

“We are very excited to deepen our collaboration with EADI — Europe’s hub for debating development with more than 100 institutional members.”

Fredrik Söderbaum, Chair of the SweDev Steering Committee and Professor at the University of Gothenburg

“The collaboration between SweDev and EADI is a confirmation of the shared commitment to promote Development Studies within a value-based context. It is a recognition of the past close collaboration through scholars representing Sweden in the EADI Executive Committee together with members of some 25 other European countries and their initiative leading towards the establishment of SweDev.”

Henning Melber, President of EADI and member of the SweDev Steering Committee.

Europe’s umbrella association

EADI, which turns 50 in 2025, is Europe’s umbrella association for research and training in Development Studies. It promotes genuine partnerships and cross-fertilization between institutions and individuals anchored in different disciplines and traditions.

“The SweDev-EADI partnership strengthens both associations and Development Studies around the world,” EADI’s President Henning Melber concluded.

SweDev network partners

SweDev partners with organisations, agencies, and institutions in Sweden and globally for greater collaboration and reach. Our partners become a part of our network and share SweDev’s aim to increase researcher collaboration and research-based knowledge for efficient policymaking and practice.

We encourage different types of collaborations with our partners such as co-arranging seminars, sharing news and reports, or writing blog posts for our website. The collaboration will give our partner organizations increased visibility through the SweDev network.
