Event summary: SweDev arranges a roundtable with the Nordic development research associations at the NorDev conference 2021.

Despite an increased demand and interest for evidence-based policymaking and the use of research in development policy, several constraints exist for the bridging to occur. The Nordic development research networks bring together development researchers and engage with policy makers, advocating for the use of research in policy and practice.

This roundtable discussion at NorDev 2021 will be an opportunity for Nordic Development Research Networks to share insights and best practices, as well as mark the launch of the first Swedish Development Research Network (SweDev). In the session, SweDev will also present preliminary findings from a comprehensive study on researcher and practitioner interaction to be launched in autumn 2021.

The session asks: What are the best practices for research findings to be picked up and acted upon in policy and practice? What can we learn from each other and the dynamics of the different Nordic Development Research networks? How is research and practitioner interaction organised in the Nordic countries?
