The Swedish Research Council is accepting applications from Swedish universities to host the next Development Research Conference (DevRes), taking place in 2022.

The DevRes conference is held every two years by a Swedish host university in collaboration with the Committee for Development Research at the Swedish Research Council. The conference focuses on research that contributes to knowledge about the causes of poverty, consequences and possible solutions, as well as on sustainable development and the link between sustainable development and poverty reduction, and other societal challenges, in low-income countries and regions.

The purpose of the conference is to present results and methodological approaches in the many disciplines of development research. DevRes works towards creating an interdisciplinary forum for researchers within development research, and to offer a platform for dialogue between researchers and relevant authorities, organizations and practitioners in development issues.

Past DevRes conferences include:

  • 2016 hosted by Stockholm University
  • 2018 hosted by the University of Gothenburg

The upcoming conference taking place between 14-15 June 2021 and will be hosted by Umeå University. To visit the DevRes website, click here
