Commission for Research Partnerships with Developing Countries (KFPE) in Switzerland, in partnership with the swissuniversities Development and Cooperation Network (SUDAC) is hosting its annual conference and an online workshop series under the theme “Sustainable, equitable partnerships in North-South collaboration – Lessons learned for future funding models“. The conference will take place on 31 May 2024 and the series of online workshops will take place during 15 May to 19 June 2024.
“The aim of the event is to reflect on the state of current funding models for North-South collaboration in research and education, to discuss best practices for achieving equal partnerships and to explore possible designs for future funding instruments. The conference will feature keynote speakers, workshops and a panel discussion at the end.”
The conference is accompanied by a series of digital workshops. The aim of these workshops is to foster the exchange and discuss ideas how to promote sustainable, equitable partnerships.” The workshops are held by a range of actors including development practitioners, researchers, businesses, project coordinators, and students. Topics for workshop include “Co-creating preconditions for inclusive and equitable funding in global academic collaborations“, “The Role of Guidelines for Sustainable and Equitable partnerships in North-South collaboration”, and “Rethinking and Navigating Equitable Partnerships for Impactful Funding Models: Lessons and Insights from 5 Continents”, among others.

The workshop series will take place between 15 May and 19 June. The workshops will take place digitally.
The conference will take place on 31 May. This is a hybrid event with the possibility to participate digitally or in-person. The in-person conference is held at PROGR, Waisenhausplatz 30, 3011 Bern, Switzerland.
